Finally...

I called early this morning at the hospital, have been for the past 3 weeks at least 2 times a week and I think they gave in or somebody canceled last min cuz Im going for my colonoscopy this upcoming Tuesday. Now I dont know how I should feel, excited, nurvous

now i hope the anesthetist is going to be there. I asked the receptionnist and he said "should be". What a great answer  if not I hope im not stuck having this the old fashion way :ymad:

I love a reassuring answer like that. What is the alternative? Do they stick a rawhide bone in your mouth and tell you to bite down if it hurts?

I am sure there will be some one there for sedation. Good Luck.

Dan

How often are you supposed to have these done anyway?
I have only had the two before my diagnosis. I assume there is some kind of schedule the average Cronie is supposed to follow, even with no symptoms.

My new GP is kind of pushing me in that direction.

You know the more I hear of the horror stories of colonscopies now, (have had very many) I am glad that my 5th Gi now gives a great concoction of drugs and I wake up NOT majorily drowsy or queasy, with Anaesthesia (sp) I get sick every time.

Hopefully Dan's version is still in the dark ages.;)

Good luck and keep us posted, everything will be fine, don't stress!
I hope I dont get sick. At age 11 I got an operation for my thyroid and was put under anaesthesia with a gas mask and I was sick like a dog, I hope the propofol wont do the same to me.

and yeah I love that answer too "should be"... not a yes not a no "should be" so I dont know maybe ill get the verse + demerol like last time if anestesiologist isnt there or maybe nothing at all... oh ha ya right they will find someone. But i am lucky i am going next week and not in oct

I believe the average is every couple years for us crohnies, maybe as spread as 5 years, but if its been more than two I wouldn't be surprised if your doctor wanted one again.

Mike wakes up wonderfully from the Propofol. He wont do the procedure without it.
Should be, nice remark. Sounds like when I asked the nurse to change Mikes dressing and she said, "I am busy". Nice!!!

Dan, Mike goes once a year. On the average I think saidinstouch is right, every 2.
Good luck natgl.
Is he sick when given propofol? I was sick to death last time I had anesthesia trhough a gas mask...

Not at all sick, like the kids nowadays say; Propofol is the shizznit!!!:eek2:
I got a call from the hospital this morning, no propofol for me... anesthesist wont be there and if this is the way I really want it the test has to be pushed back to end of august (noooo way). So Im going for the old Versed + demerol again
