Hello all,
If you would've asked me three months ago what a perianal abscess/fistula was, I certainly could not have told you. Unfortunately, one appeared out of the blue and, needless to say, it has been quite the experience. A horrible, horrible experience. The abscess itself was superficial, but it was big. The doc said he drained roughly 500 ml, I believe. The wound was packed for about 3 weeks and actually healed up well. Post op? It's been 3 months. I still have very minor discomfort and get funny feelings around the scar every now and then, so now all I worry about is the formation of a fistula. I know this affliction varies from person to person, but could someone please give me some insight? I do not believe I have ibd, but I've never been tested. I'm a very healthy individual and I can't ever recall having any ibd symptoms. I'm just ready for this nightmare to be over with.
