First flare in 2007, Second Flare since March and still going strong!

Hi,

My name is Colleen and I am new to all of this. Although I have been reading for a long time this is my first attempt to write.

First, I would like to say thanks to all of you, some of my sleepless nights and days filled with pain, have been made easier because of all of you!!!!!!!

I have been in this flare since March, it seems like forever. It started with all of the bathroom runs up to 15 times a day. I was put on Prednisone 60 taper worked, got off meds it was back. On Prednisone again, same thing happened. My regular GP was all I could get in with so she then tried Entocort, stopped the diarrhea, constipated for 9 days with very little sleep! Doc then put me on Asacol, a week into it I started having BMs, 2 weeks in and I am having such muscle aches and diarrhea! Seeing GI on July 5th, praying for relief!

Hey Colleen, welcome!! Have you had ongoing GI care since '07?? Usually you'd be put on a maintenance med(stronger than Asacol) with or after the pred to keep you in remission. Good luck on the 5th!! Be sure to write down your continued symptoms and any concerns you have prior to your visit so you don't forget anything! Let us know how things go!
