Scheduled to have first Tysabri infusion today at 12:30 in Louisville Ky.
Like all medications that I have been on this is very scary but not as scary as this disease I have been battling for 25 years. 4 small bowel surgeries leaving about 9 feet which now leaves me with small bowel syndrome along with my CD. Currently have active CD in the same area of small bowel, rectum and now have developed CD in the large intestines also. I have been through all the biologicals with no success and some bad reactions to Remicade. The prednisone I was on in the early years killed the bone marrow in both my hips and knee and was diagnosed with Avascularnucrosis which I have had core decompression surgery to replace the diseased bone marrow with new bone marrow in both hips and my right knee.
Tysabri may not be the answer but I have to keep trying and praying that eventually the Good Lord will lead me through this horrific disease. I have always believed that he will not give me more than I can handle and my family has always been there to support and pick me up when needed. I will update everyone on my progress as I take this medication.
