fish oil dosage and type?

what dosage and type of fish oil do you all take? I know it needs to be high to be therapeutic against the inflammation. I have been alternating been cod liver oil, and a pill with anchovies and sardines to cover all bases. I have to check the labels to see exactly how much DHA, EPA I am getting a day.

What have you been told is a therapeutic amount and how has it worked for you?

I use Krill Oil at the recommended dose.

If you are trying to quell inflammation you can take higher doses. I have used three times the recomended dose at times.

I've read a few of your posts about diet. One tip from me: don't do too much at once. You might find that one thing you eat causes symptoms and it's hard to isolate it if you change your diet too fast. Find something that agrees with you and then add.

its true fenway I am excited and desperate to try everything and anything but its gotta be done slowly otherwise i wont know what is what. I am trying to be the same about food, trying something new every day to see how it sits with me and whether it can be added to my already boring bland diet.

The magic number based on my research is 4 grams (4000mg). The National Institute of Health set it as their recommendation for "healthy adults" so I plan to add at least another 2g daily after testing this dose out for a few weeks. Hope this helps.

my advice would be 1 gram a week. im doubting we need very much of this stuff based on my own experiances, which is no benefits beyond this point. we recycle these fats very well at least in our brains we do. its amazing the role they play in our health but its been a little overhyped, so we don't need as much as you would think. we conserve it very well like iron and b12 or calcium, its recycled within the body, contrasting with b-vitamins which aren't stored very well at all.
