Hello all,
About 2 weeks ago I had a LIFT procedure for my fistula. As of now, the pain has subsided but I still encounter quite a bit of drainage throughout the day. I called the doctor office to ask whether this is expected and they said this was "normal". I've followed all recommendations from the doc (no heavy lifting, sitz baths daily, high fiber diet, etc.) but I don't have a post op for another week so I am worried this didn't work.
Did anyone have a similar experience with drainage with the LIFT procedure? If so, how long was "normal" drainage for you? Also, why would there be any drainage in the first place? From what I've read, I would think the drainage would stop almost immediately. Does something internal need to heal?
Thank you in advance.
