Flagyl and Diarrhea?

I started Flagyl for the first time a few days ago after a colonoscopy revealed a peri-anal fistula. I am on 1500 mg a day (500 mg 3x a day) for the next 30 days. I have been having diarrhea for the past few days and I'm wondering if it's the flagyl. For the last month or two I was more constipated than anything and now all of a sudden it's the polar opposite. I can't tell if it's just part of the ongoing flare I've been in (for 4 years more or less!) or if it's the medication. Anyone else have experience with this?

Yes it is the flagyl! Some people get it more than others but being loose is far better than being constipated. I have been on Flagyl (250mg a day) for years, it is the only thing that keeps my crohns at bay. It can also make your feces a different colour and urine but doesnt to mine. BTW do NOT drink any alcohol or alcohol base cough syrups whilst on Flaygl..it can make you sicker than a dog...trust me. :hang:

Pen's right. Flagyl always makes my D worse than it already is.
