I recently got diagnosed with Crohn's on 2/13/15 and I am now on my 3rd flare up of 2015. I had 1 in January which lead to my appendectomy, then again in February after diagnoses, and NOW in March a 3rd flare...
I got prescribed Flagyl, Cipro, and Prednisone to take along side my Lialda.
2 Lialda per day every day
2 Prednisone a day for 1 week and then 1 Prednisone a day for the 2nd week
2 Cipro a day for 2 weeks
3 Flagyl a day for 3 weeks
I'm worried and concerned with the steroid and with all medications combined due to massive amounts of side effects. I was told to make sure I finish all medication, and I have a pill cam endoscopy set up next month to see if my Crohns is in my intestines besides colon. What joy?!
I must say my road to remission/recovery is growing thin. My weight is up/down, my diet is constantly changing, mood swings due to being so exhausted are causing problems, and chills whenever I spike a fever suck.
Advice on anything?? Is there a light at the end of the tunnel for this nonsense we call Crohns disease?
