Hi all. So lately, all the food ive always been able to eat are starting to give me trouble, and my bowels, which are usually about 4-5 times a day (and soft, watery) are now coming about 7 times a day, and about 3 times a night (all water, and black looking stuff)

I guess the past couple nights ive been keeping my fiancee up all night, crying and holding myself repeating "it hurts, it hurts so much" but i dont remember a thing. im tired of running to my GI for every little thing, and now i have a new doc, and im not sure if its just a bad time, or a flare up coming along.

:ybatty:

its driving me crazy, and it sucks.

i eat once a day about, because then im full forever, and its always threatening to come back up, not because im nausus, but because i just feel like i ate a whole thanksgiving meal twice.

what are these symptoms of, if anything, and has anyone had this combo of them ever? ive had them all seperately, but never together.

Call your doctor as soon as possible. You don't want to screw yourself over and end up making things worse.

Also how much are you eating. Try to eat quarter of what you eat in one meal three times a day.

I would eat like, maybe half a 6 inch sub from subway ( can usually eat a full foot) or half a thing of top ramen, very little, compared to what i usually eat. im a pretty hefty woman.

im just always reluctant to call, because i just have this paranoia that they think i am just looking for attention, because i as accused of it before i was diagnosed when i wasd younger. i guess if it keeps up over the weekend, i can call on monday.

hiya digits. listen, one thing i have learned in my checkered medical history, is to put aside worries that people may think you're attention seeking, exaggerating, imagining.... the important thing is, YOU know you dont feel well, and you know when something is not right with your body. please, dont let such worries hold you back from getting the right attention.

if the docs cant find anything particularly wrong to be causing this (& i hope they dont), then i would agree with jeff - go onto the little & often kind of diet. even if its just a couple of mouthfuls with a drink, a few times a day.... its kinder to your system than one large amount that you cant cope with.

If your not eating as much as usual and going to the bathroom more frequently I would say call your doctor asap. Best of luck

the "black stuff" would worry me....blood from the upper GI exits the system as a black color...the darker red/black it is, the higher up in the GI tract it originated from, thus blood from the rectum would be bright/standard red....

Good luck, take care of yourself....call the dr.

If you are full after eating a little bit of food, it is quite possible you have a partial blockage someplace. Your symptoms are just like my previous ones. Eat a little and after two or three hours it feels like it may come back up, then it either does or it moves down.

Try a liquid diet for awhile and see if it improves.

Coffee grain like black stuff in your bm is supposed to be congealed blood. If thats what it looks like I'd get it checked out soon. On the other hand if it just looks like dark water it might be from the Ensure.

You can also try the SCD diet, I know it helps me alot its very restrictive though.

im not sure what the SCD diet is, but im not on ensure.

I did realize when you mentioned ground up coffee bean looking, that I just had Venofer Infusions, and im suppsed to be looking for THROWING UP coffee bean stuff. maybe it just decided to go the other way...

Yeah, dark 'coffee ground' or 'tarry' looking stool should ALWAYS be mentioned to your doctor.. It's not 'vying' for attention, its keeping your dr appraised of your situation. If things were to hit the fan, and you hadn't told your dr., he/she would have every reason to bawl you out. Some dr's might even drop you as a patient.

Yes, I agree with everyone. Don't let the dark stools go untold..for me it is associated with blood, because there are times that well...when I wipe its blood on the toilet paper..that's also usually about the time the flareups send me to the ER.
Good luck, hope you feel better soon..
