Just curious if anybody on here has had a Crohn's or Colitis flare up without blood in their stool?
You can have several or all other symptoms like fever, nausea, vomiting, extreme pain etc. but no blood.
I myself find that even if I'm in serious pain I start to wonder if it's really a flare if I'm not bleeding.

Just general discussion! Anyone can feel free to answer!!

You can have flares without blood, I would say that from listening to people that flares with blood are actually more rare than flares without. If there is blood you should be in a hospital. Inflammation doesn't need to include wounds that bleed, it can just be inflammation or a wound that hasn't healed yet. Another thing is that there is sometimes blood invovled but you don't notice it in stool, a test can determine if there is blood in stool or not.

everytime i have a flare there is blood all the time. my gastro consultant just gives me prednisolone and it seems to sort it out

The only thing that stopped my bleeding was cortisone enemas, but the flare continued even then.

I very very rarely have blood while flaring. I usually only have either dried blood or red blood when I get fissures and things like that. On a normal flaring basis though, no blood.

No blood here either. Only symptom right now is intense pain in left lower abdomen. Just had colonoscopy and my UC is active according to my biopsy. I never bleed nor run fever.
