I've never gotten a flu shot before.

Im tapering off prednisone & I'm starting Remicade in the next week or two and the Remicade nurse suggests I get one.

Does getting the flu shot (I'm getting a dead virus) make you a little sick? If that's the case, wouldn't it post pone me starting remicade?

Why have you or have you not chosen to get the flu shot?

My son gets the flu shot, he has never experienced any side effects. He gets it due to being on remicade. Last year he got the flu before we got around to getting the shot. It was a bit rough for him, I think it postponed his infusion as well but don't remember.

The shot has never postponed his infusion but he doesn't have side effects from it.

Just had mine yesterday , have had it for the last three years due to being on Remicade and have had no problems (not felt unwell just after having it or anything ). Infact my whole family got flu earlier this year and it hardly bothered me , so I have to assume it works :)

I had mine a few days ago and feel fine. Best to get it before remicade so you can build the antibodies.

I have had one for years, the only issue may be a bit of a sore arm from the injection (based on personal experience)

Got mine yesterday. Was encouraged to by my doc and since I'm on immunosuppressive meds I qualify to get it early. I was advised to have it 2 weeks after and 2 weeks before remicade.
