Hi all, I'm recovering from surgery, I had a right hemicolectomy (16 days ago).

Just a very quick question, something is confusing me slightly..

Since I *technically no longer have active crohns, am I free to eat as I please? Will there be no trigger foods? Nothing to cause me pain or discomfort ect?

I can't see why I would get pain if I ate an old trigger food (for example an onion), seeing as I have a clear digestive tract for the moment.

I've been quite careful with my diet as of yet but I'm going to try introducing things that would have caused me grief in the past.

Thanks all.

Try it and see? If you have no inflammation now then there shouldn't be a problem, but of course you still have Crohn's and chances are you will get some inflammation again in the future. Perhaps you should enjoy it whilst it lasts.

I don't have any problems eating anything since surgery.

Thanks for the advice both, I ate a few chicken fajitas last night, safe to say they were stunning, tastier than any food i've had in years..

Noticed I feel a bit whacked out and a little gas pain, probably from the veg + salsa sauce..

I'll take it easy anyway, gradually trying new foods.
