I wanted to let everyone know (specifically those who are in or around the Toronto, Ontario area) of an event being held this friday (August 8, 2008) from 7-9pm At Mt. Sinai Hospital (600 University Avenue). I am planning to go and it would be great if anyone else was able to make it out there. Here is some information on the event.

Living with Crohn's or Colitis can sometimes seem impossible.

Crohn's sufferer, Greg Mailloux and Vin Heney of Team Powered by Community are in the middle of an 8000km cycle ride across Canada to raise funds and awareness for IBD research! Come out and meet and greet them and hear about their adventure!

PLUS SPECIAL GUESTS- John Bare- T.O. local and ulcerative colitis and pelvic pouch patient who is an accomplished long distance runner and marathoner!

ALSO SPEAKING- Andrea Clark- Registered Dietitian who will give you advice how YOU can live an extreme life too through great nutrition!

and DR. HILARY STEINHART will be talking about NEW IBD therapies. Dr. Steinhart is the Head of the Combined Divison of Gastroenterology for Mt. Sinai and the University Health Network. He is also an Associate Professor in the Dept of Medicine at the University of Toronto.

COME JOIN US FOR A GREAT NIGHT OF INSPIRATION AND EDUCATION!

(Food and Drink will be provided)

Please RSVP so we can save you a seat!

Dr. Steinhart is actually my gastroenterologist and he is the author of the book Crohn's and Colitis: Understanding the Facts About IBD. Hopefully you all are aware of Powered By Community and if you are not then I suggest you read the thread we have about it (just click the previous link).
