I was just diagnosed with Crohn's and am starting prednisone and Aspiro as soon as I can get to the pharmacy. Since I am having problems digesting some veggies, my doctor suggested I stay away from fruits and veggies until my symptoms start to improve. Then I can see what I can tolerate.

Would you be concerned about not eating fruits or veggies for about a month? Is there other things I can eat to make up for the vitamins I'm missing out on? I'm not very diet knowledgeable.

I would be concerned about missing specific nutrients if you went without them for a month as people with Crohn's disease are already at risk of deficiencies. However, if you can't tolerate them, you can't tolerate them. My suggestions:

1. See our juicing subforum which is under this forum. Many who can't tolerate raw or even cooked veggies can handle juicing and do VERY well with it.

2. See our enteral nutrition subforum which is under our, "Treatment" section. Enteral nutrition consists of drinks that contain pretty much all the nutrients you need.

I wish you well.

That's a great idea. I have had a little juice with no pain. I will definitely check that out. And maybe try it after work. :) Thanks for the suggestion.

You could make vegetable soup just make sure the veggies are well cooked and blended.its healthy tasty and easy to make.
