I have a question?

We had purple braclets made for Kota and to help with his fight against Crohn's Disease. We wanted to show our support to him and try and let more people know about Crohns Disease.

We have given away alot of these bracelets. I posted pictures of them on facebook when we first got them in the mail. I had several people want to buy them. I was told I should try and sell them to raise money for his medicine and other medical expenses. I didnt think alot about this until I had several businesses in our town contact me. They asked if I would like to put a basket with his braclets and a picture of him in their stores. They said they would like to help Kota and show him their support.

I have never done anything like this.. So here is my question? What would I put on the paper with his picture? I am not real good with words.

Thanks and has anyone else ever done anything like this before

I'm a terrible writer myself but I guess my advice would be to keep it short and honest. If its too long people might pass it by and you need to make it clear what the money is for (maybe even say how much his medical expenses are?).

Hopefully some day there will be some better insurance coverage in the future so cost wont be so much of an issue. :)

Hey lbm,

I haven't done anything like this before but as Crabby has said I would keep it short and straight to the point. Perhaps something like this???...

Hi,

My name is Kota. I am 12 years old and I have recently been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. Crohn's disease has no cure so it is something I am going to have to deal with for the rest of my life. I am trying hard to get myself into remission but to do that I need a lot of medicine and loads of doctors visits, hospital stays and tests.

My Mum and Dad had these bracelets made so we could raise awareness about Crohn's Disease and help assist with the cost of my treatment. I would be so grateful if you purchased a bracelet and assisted me to achieve to these goals.

(If you like to know more about Crohn's Disease please have a look at the fact sheet/brochure on the counter next to this box)

Thank you!
Kota

Maybe you could get a fact sheet from CCFA, make some copies and place them next to the fundraising box for people that were interested to know more. You could incorporate them into the story...what I have put in brackets.
