I'm going in for surgery @ univ. of Chicago

Looks like My Doctor says I will need a Ileo, right and transversal colon resection. I still cannot understand why I need my right Colon resected when its only the ICV and Ileum and Cecum that's trouble, the rest of it seems fine.
I'm very worried about this as I'm going to meet with the University of Chicago's Surgeon ( Robert Hurst). If this is done Laproscopic, what is my recovery time estimate? In and out of Hospital? Anyone ever flown after this type of surgery? Do you guys think my Surgeon wont allow me to?

Thanks guys

Scary who just had a bad colonoscopy with a pediatric scope unable to pass terminal ileum. Other areas were tight. Looking at the scope pics I'm almost slammed shut.
