I had a small bowel resection last year and every since I have had gas like you would not believe. I spend more time farting than I can admit to. Seems like food does not effect it or make it worse just about 10 am I start needing to pass tons of gas for hours on end. Anyone else have this?

It's probably the beer and the coffee. I know those early morning beers really hit me hard too :lol2:

You may need to be tested for SIBO. Which probiotics do you take and how much?

I actually had laid off probiotics just out of forgetfullness. I take so many darn meds that I just left them out. SIBO sounds like it can get nasty. I only have one of the symptoms which is the gas. I was bloated for a bit but that has gone away. I will see if it gets worse now that I am on methotroxate. So should I or should I not take probiotics if SIBO is suspected?

My morning beer, thats funny. You know it could be the coffee. I drink like 3/4 of a pot by 7 am and then the gas starts at 10am and goes sometimes until 7pm. My son thinks I do it for fun! LOL

If it is SIBO then you may need to take a course of antibiotics and using probiotics may help as they can help reduce the amount of bad bacteria which produce a lot of gas. Sugar also tends to feed bad bacteria producing more gas as well.
