I had surgery 17 days ago, removing 9 strictures and 23cm of jejenum. I am still in heaps of pain as to be expected but wanting to know if anyone else has suffered heaps of wind pain post surgery and how long did it last. I am being very careful to introduce food but this started about 7 days after when I was still on fluids. I have tried peppermint capsules and fennel and camomile tea. I am due to start infliximab in the next week which I am a little hesitant about.
I guess I am looking for reassurance that this wind pain is normal and will subside and any suggestions on how to reduce the discomfort. Thanks Jody xx:yfaint:

Are you currently taking any pain meds. Narcotics can cause the digestive system to slow down. I know that they cause gas for me.

It's been 2 months since my surgery and initially I was experiencing a lot of pain from trapped wind however it has eased over time and although I am still farting like the clappers the pain has gone. I found that walking helps and also lying in bed and gentle rocking from side to side.

Good luck with the infliximab.
