Gastritis and Fatty Liver

Hi Guys,

I'm hoping you can help. I've had belly issue for awhile, and recently decide to see the gastro doc. After talking about my symptoms, he thought it might be Crohn's and ordered a bunch of tests. Blood Test, CT Scan, and Endoscopy later.. it was found I have a fatty liver, gastritis, and normal blood work...

My question is would normal blood tests rule out Crohns? My symptoms are pretty mild compared to the symptoms described on this forum.

Hiya: Welcome to CF! Re. your question: Nope. Numerous people here will tell you stories about their blood work looking just fine even in the midst of a terrible flair. Fatty liver is relatively common with IBD, too.

I agree with Kelly. I have had some terrible flair ups and my blood result were seemingly fine. It is not the funnest way but a colonoscopy can help them tell what is going on.

I was always told my bloods were fine.
In fact after being diagnosed with crohns a junior doc in the hosp admitted my bloods have been a massive indicator for a while but no one picked up on it !
It's frustrating as I never saw the results and wouldn't know what to look for, so ask for Copys and look up your results for yourself !
