Gastroenterologist Advice

My daughter was diagnosed with Crohn's disease four months ago and she had me go with her to her GI doctor yesterday. The doctor was rude when my daughter asked questions about her treatment and left the room without us even knowing the appointment was over. She was in tears by the time we left. She wants to fire this doctor, but we can't get her into another gastroenterologist until May. Has anyone had their family doctor take over their treatment while they are between GI doctors?

Depending upon the severity of her disease, you may want to drive a little fruther to get another one, if that is the only option. The key would be to get in with someone familiar with the disease; perhaps your family doc has experience with it and can handle it in the interim? good luck!

I feel lucky that we are in a big practice (well four specialist). Already seen two due to the need for urgent appointment. Sarah see a female specialist.
