I am think of trying a Gluten free or Low Starch. I am not happy about this thought, but I don't know what to do about my heartburn anymore. and I need to try something new.
I have had heart burn for 2 full years now. My GI doc started to laugh when i saw him last, with the idea that he's never need to treat my crohn's for intestinal issues.
My blood work now comes up clean for inflammation markers, so i feel I have a chance. Though heartburn is notorious for being difficult to get rid of.
Anyway... so i want to try and go gluten free for a period of time. I think if i tried permanently i would be overwhelmed. How long would a good try, to see if things get better, a week? two weeks?
when after my colonscopy the doc comment was well you either have celiacor crohn's, i came up negative for celiac, and in my mind i was totally ok with crohn's instead of celiac.
part of my concern is that toast is my safe food when i can't eat anything else. i also like bread a lot. but some times it will give me heartburn as well so that what started this though.
any ideas of how i should go about this? has anyone had success with heartburn issues and these diets?
