Ok so I've got an appointment with my specialist on monday and I'm going to tell him I want off the azathioprine and want to either A. stay off the hard drugs completely for a couple of months (see how things go) or B. be given a different treatment option. I figure there has go to be some other good options out there.
The Aza was a reasonably good drug for me, it didn't solve a lot of my problems but it definitely did bring my D down a lot. But I've just gotten over the side-effects
On Aza I've had:
- A lot of hair loss (which hasn't stopped and I've been on it for seven months) :frown:
- A lot of eczema and acne problems
- A cough that lasted six weeks
- Bad fatigue
- plus I still get cramps all the time, d a lot, haven't been able to extend my diet etc. etc.
So it has been an ok medication, but definitely not great and I'm ready for my hair to stop falling out. So my questions are: Is coming off Aza hard? Do you go into a bad flare? What is a good next medicine to try after Aza?
Sorry for the super long post guys, and thanks for your advice.
