After having been hospitalized twice in the last two months, and having my GI miss something that is supposed to be within his specialty really pisses me off. Pain, pain, pain and he can't find a reason so he prescribes zoloft and ativan and tells me not to stress so much, that and eating too much are just making me nauseated. He was sure I had no obstruction or inflammation.
Hospital docs diagnosed and treated the pancreatitis I actually had. THEY took me off the meds I didn't need and put me on some I did. Wonderful people.
So I called today to make an appointment with a specialist at University of Alabama at Birmingham. They got me in Aug. 26, I had to have a Friday appointment as it is a 5 hour drive. The pancreatitis is still not gone, and I am in severe pain at times. There's not much I can do about it. I have a few lortabs the hospital docs gave me, but I won't last until late August. I thought, screw it. I was supposed to have a follow up when I got out of the hospital, so I thought I'd call and make an appointment with my GI just in the meantime. When I called, the receptionist told me that I already had an appointment on Sept. 21. I told her I had just gotten out of the hospital. She says, "Oh, so you need a follow up appointment? How about August 24?" :voodoo:
Um, sure. Click. Think I will go see my GP in the meantime. My GI's office has washed their hands of me.
