Does FOOD and what we eat have anything to do with the health of our body, internally and externally?

YES! I can't tell you how many gastroenterologists, dermatologists and medical Dr.'s told me "NO" in answer to this question during all the years I suffered from Crohn's, acne and rosacea. So of course, taking their advice I believed them for many many years and for many many years ate poorly and enjoyed it but had little confidence of getting better and lived a painful, sick and diseased life.

Years later when I heard about the alkaline lifestyle and diet I was interested. So I went against what I'd been told traditionally by my highly trained medical Dr's when they said it wouldn't work. I changed my diet and lifestyle. It was worth a shot, after all what did I have to lose. What I had been doing for so long wasn't working, and I always dreamed of having good health and great skin. So I made changes from an acid diet to one more alkaline in nature. Of course I had to blend up all the fresh greens at first because of digestive trouble and I went through some difficult detoxification. But within a short time I saw major changes and I found out for myself that what we eat does matter!

Any folks out their really looking to get off of traditional treatments wanting alternatives. don't give up and do your research. get some pH test strips at your health food store and give it a month go. Any help or advice I can offer anyone let me know.

Good luck answers are out there.:)

hi and welcome, Alkalizing.

your story is extremely interesting, and i am pleased you've had such success with your dietary changes. i am amazed, however, that you say so many health professionals have told you that diet does NOT affect our bodies. i have never heard any doctor, nurse or consultant say anything but the exact opposite. i had skin problems when i was a child - the first thing i had to do was alter my diet. similarly with Crohns - diet is one of the things i often discuss with my consultant, in fact i have had a dietician assigned to me at one point, for this very reason.

I would have thought that all the Hydrochloric acid the your stomach would mess up an 'alkaline lifestyle'.

Personally, I would group this in the same category as detox. A trendy 'treatment' that does little. All I've ever heard in the way of evidence was purely anecdotal.

Well dang... all I need to do is shove an aloe plant up my butt and eat alkaline things (I think batteries should do) and I'll be saved from my "anal disease"

You think the best battery would be the duracell or the energizer?

***shakes head***

Yeah I don't think that doing an acidic or basic diet is good for anyone for too long a time. It really wouldn't take that much to throw the pH levels off and that could lead to long term damage.

The last time I shoved an aloe plant up my butt, it didn't work. I think I figured out the problem. I didn't lay in the shelf window for a few days with my butt up in the air. I'm about to try that as soon as the sun comes up.

My mother-in-law's dog ate a battery (seriously) and burned the heck out of her mouth. I don't know if it helped her Crohn's disease or not. Now that I have the idea though, I'll ask her. (The dog - not my M-in-L)

.... hey.... where the heck did that Twinkie post go??

If I was going to suck on a battery I would NOT choose energizer because that bunny just keeps going and going and going. Aren't we trying to stop "going".

Butteze thats something I never thought of, maybe your supposed to stick it up your but so it can act like an enema. No more drinking nasty tasting laxatives. Just stick an energizer up our butt and you will be done in seconds.
