Just a quick post to praise how good some doctors actually are :) Got in from dropping our youngest son at football last night to find my hubi on phone to Kians GP, as you can imagine my heart sank as his last bloood test showed a slight increase in a inflammation marker. Anyway was just a call to ask if Kian was ok, how was he feelin etc and that he had noticed kians recent bloods. (this is our family doctor and not his ibd team in Glasgow) explained to my hubi that his crp was normal and was the esr that was up, 38 i think he said. He also explained that the esr is non specific so it could well be the sore throat he had. More bloods when we visit the ibd team next week but the GPs phonecall just put my mind at ease a little even though it gave me a fright, especially when it was at 6.30 pm in evening. xx

I too have a fantastic GP who will call me if my blood work is off. It's nice to know that they're actually acknowledging the results and are caring enough to check up on you (or your son in your case). You hear so many stories about unhelpful and uncaring GP's so I think we're very lucky not to be in that boat.

Sorry to hear his markers are up, but very happy to hear about a good GP! Ours is great too. He calls to check up, or with labs. When my Mom (his patient as well) was diagnosed with cancer he would call often. When she passed he called to check up on me.

Thanks for posting dodie. :)

It surely does gladden the heart to hear that you have such a fab GP.

Good luck with the bloods and IBD team consult! :goodluck:
