There are some people with Crohn's, colitis... using grape seed extract (not to confuse with grapefruit seed extract) to help their disease in ibd forums. I've seen a few people use it here as a supplement and there is only 1 topic about this supplement in this forum. I want to learn more.

I've been using 600-800 mg/day for the last 5 days with no noticeable change. Do any of you use grape seed extract for Crohn's or colitis? How much do you use and how's your experience with it?

Thanks in advance.

Try this, http://catalog.designsforhealth.com...id.1426/c.ACCT14095/.f?h=445663d24ffbcc756fff

It contain's biovin which is a grape skin extract high in resveratrol which has many benefits for colitis. it stimulates autophagy which kills intercellular bacteria like MAP and AIEC which is involved in crohn's. other brands formulas contain rice powder which may irritate IBD. i have not tried this but i have tried a different brand with biovin. I have tried a resveratrol supp made with an herb not grape derived, it has some side effects but i take a high amount once a week and it will expel pathogens i have accumulated over a two week period of time. i take a smaller dose during the week as well and it supresses some symptoms. I think this herb is toxic though and grape skin extract is better source of resveratrol and is likely more powerful.

Fasting is also said to be when our body naturally activates autophagy. I wonder if high amounts of natural plant antioxidants from food consumption have the same effect as those extracted from plants in essential oils or synthetically manufactured resveratrol - causing autophagy to kick in sooner.

Wildbill how do you determine whether it is effective in removing opportunistic/pathogenic microorganisms? Signs in stool? Reduction in IBS symptoms?

I guess this is the excuse everyone's been looking for to justify drinking a bottle of wine every night. Just kidding.

WingedVictory, Some pains will go away or sometimes momentarily become worse and be gone after a few days and the bowel movement will often have mucus in it indicating some sort of event occured.
