hey all,
i just have to say, as a newly diagnosed crohnie, i am happy that i had the opportunity to attend a Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC) Symposium today...
it was SUPER helpful and informative...
i attended a few sessions... one about Nutrition, one about the Difference Between Crohn's and Colitis, one about Coping with IBD and one about Genetics and Research
the nutrition session had a speaker named Natasha Turner who's a Naturopathic Doctor practicing in Toronto and she has a book called 'The Hormone Diet' and i am definitely going to purchase this book and hopefully get an appt to see her...
has anyone here tried this diet? i knew i wasn't making the best food choices, but WOW, i am eating all WRONG foods. lol
also, i am happy that the CCFC has funded the GEM project ($5 million) i really hope that they get 5000 people in good time, and i think this is a step in the right direction... check out their site: http://www.gemproject.ca/home.jsp?lang=en
i learned so much about IBD today... it was awesome...
plus i got to view a documentary called 'Rubberside Down', about a guy with Crohn's and his best friend who travelled 8000 km across Canada to raise money for IBD research... check out their site for more info about it and the trailer: http://www.poweredbycommunity.org/cms/
anyway, just thought i'd share... i'm just happy to be feeling more positive again.
