I wanted to share two great cookbooks that I use a lot when preparing meals for people with Crohn's.

"What To Eat With IBD" - A comprehensive nutrition and recipe guide for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis - Author: Tracie Dalessandro - MS, RD, CDN

"How To Cook for Crohn's and Colitis" - Author: Brenda Roscher

I got this one free last fall for signing up at crohnsonline... I don't know if they're still doing this. It's not really that helpful for me right now because most of the main dish recipes include lots of veggies - and since I started flaring last summer veggies, even cooked well, make me bloat like crazy!

I learned to substitute. I too can't eat many veggies. The only ones I can have right now are parsnips, white rice - jasmine or basmanti or regular white, potatoes either plain or sweet. I did try some of the recipes and eliminated the veggies. Not very exciting, but I've learned to adapt.

The mealoaf on page 110 I just eliminated the bell pepper. Didn's miss it much and it tasted pretty good.

I have the How to Cook book and have made a lot of the recipes in the book. It's not a bad book, but a lot of the recipes contain stuff that usually gives me issues.

From that book last Friday I made the Swiss Steak with Onions and it was very good.

iv found a very good book crohn's & colitis diet guide 150 recipes by Dr A Hillary Steinhart & Julie Cepo
the recipes also tell u want to omit when following a low residue diet
