Ok I should have known this before I did it, but just couldn't help myself. For years I have looked forward to the end of the year because that means Honeycrisp Apple season. I ate 2 apples yesterday and started bleeding today.

This does not make me happy.

Sorry. Just wanted to vent.

Have you tried peeling the apples and see if that goes any better? For me it's the seeds & skins that causes me the most trouble when I eat fruits & veggies. If you've got a juicer, that's another option. I usually do carrots and apples in my juicer (I'll throw a few carrots in there and then add an apple for sweetness). Juicing seems to break down the fiber (another cause of gut troubles) and makes it really easy on my tummy. Of course what works for me might not for you, so these are just suggestions.

I'm sorry that something so seemingly inocuous made your guts so unhappy. I'm the same way, I've got a lot of trigger foods too (garlic is the weirdest one - even small amounts of it drive my guts crazy for days!). If I eat tomatoes they don't hurt, but I always see the skins in my poo which freaks me out because I see bright red and think blood. It's not fun having a messed up digestion system. I totally feel for you. :(

I do have a juicer, but won't juice these apples (they're very expensive). I'll try in a week or so without the peelings and see, but right now I can't handle any fruits and veggies except bananas and potatoes.

I know what you mean about the tomatoes except I pass the skin and the flesh so the made the do not eat list rather quickly.

I guess it's back to baked potatoes fow now.

I've been having more and more trouble with apples. (also love honey crisp) I've been chopping up and making basic apple sauce so I digest them better. it sucks.

I went to the orchard a few weeks ago and ate an apple, and it really came back to bite me. I love the honeycrisp, too, and since they have such a thin skin, you'd think they wouldn't be so bad. Sorry they caused you so much trouble.

Since this is more of a vent than an Undiagnosed subject, I have moved it to the Vent Away forum. I am sure you will find lots of folks there with the same food complaints!

I know exactly how you feel, i love apples! And everytime i eat one i always get a flare up :( Try removing the skin, i heard that helps it go down easier. :)

Anyone try pineapple? Ive heard it has some kind of vitamin that is good for our tummys. Last time I had it...it didn't turn out well!
