I usually hate complaining, so if I do it online I guess it'll be okay...
Basically, Crohn's is driving me CRAZY!!

1. AS Exams- Not only am I stressed from exams, but it's making my Crohns really bad; fatigue, headaches, frequent bathroom visits... etc....

2. Fistulae- Everytime I celebrate that one has FINALLY gone away, another one pops up!! I've been on Humira for about 2 months now and I'm starting to lose my patience :( I'm now on 9 pills a day cos of all these fistulas! Ahhhh....

3. Parasites?- So, two weeks ago I visited my Humira nurse, who said I needed a blood test. She then asked if it was okay if we did an extra blood test because some students at the hospital were researching people who had recently gone on holiday to a tropical climate, to see if they have picked up some form of parasites by chance. The nurse assured me that it was unlikely I had them, but because i had just come back from a holiday in Iran it would be nice and helpful to give them my sample. I agreed, and quickly forgot I had even done that... Until today. I visited my Humira nurse again, and she said that the results had come back positive, and that everyone was extremely shocked....
This is gonna add to my list of pills per day, and usually I wouldn't mind, but ALL of these problems are happening at once and it's just so frustrating!!

Dear Crohns,
PLEASE let me get through my exams WITHOUT anymore fistulas, random viruses or ANY OTHER flare ups!! Pleeeeeeease!!!

Sorry for the rant, I just reeeally need a break from all this :(

Omg what parasites did you have?? I had malaria twice, the idea of malaria parasites makes me gag.

I bet you'll nail your AS's though :) Either way, DO NOT stress them though - take it from someone who's done the AS/A Level thing n graduated from uni, there's really no sweat if you stuff one or two exams up (not that you would). I screwed up a couple (and I wasn't even ill!) and I just retook and got the grades I needed. Well actually that's a lie, but d'yknow what? I missed my grades for uni by ONE grade, so I didn't go to my first choice I went through clearing to an incredible Uni where I was so, so happy, and my sister now goes to the uni I would've gone to if Id've got my grades and I KNOW I would've hated it, definitely not the place for me.

SO, my point is, there's always another chance to ace exams, and everything happens for a reason :)

xx

Um I think it's called strongyloides. It's not too serious, but still annoying.

Thanks for that, that's really reassuring :) what're you doing at uni? I still have no idea :/
It's nice to know someone else has also gone through all this :)

Never fear! Re-takes are always possible! Plus if it's your AS exams you have a whole other year!! Relax!

I feel your pain tho, I'm doing my finals at uni atm and spent 5 days in hospital during them, I had to leave the ward at one point to sit one of my exams and sat 3 exams with a bowel obstruction! So you'll be amazed at what you can do when you have to!

Good luck
xxxx

strongyloides? wow they sound exotic, you can tell everyone you've survived some rare tropical disease, and a holiday to Iran must've been amazing, I'm very jealous!

I did English Literature at UEA in Norwich. It was the best time of my life :) you have time to figure out whether you want to go to uni (although you should because it's awesome) and what to do there. I picked English because it was the only thing I was really good at and I really enjoyed it.

Exams are funny things, I'm sure you'll ace yours but even if you did fluff one or two you can totally retake. You can even retake the year! You won't even remember the stress of your exams in a year or so, except that you'll be glad they're over! Seriously though, don't be too stressed just enjoy your subjects, do your best and know if you need to there's always another chance and way to get to where you want to go :)

yeah, Iran was lots of fun :)

I know that I want to go to Uni, but I have no idea what I want to do!

Thanks for the advice :) I've calmed down a bit. The strongyloides is probs gone now cos I've had the antibiotics...

But (here comes another rant) YET ANOTHER unexpected and random illness has come up this week!! I won't post it here cos it belongs in the 'girl' section hahaa, but it's so annoying how it's all during exam time... GRR..

oh well, stressing only makes things worse so I'm gonna try even harder to stay positive :)
Thanks for being so caring all of ya! :D
