I had a colonoscopy done last Thursday and it showed multiple ulcers in my terminal ileum along with something about chronic mucosa throughout the entire colon. My GI took multiple biopsies of the ulcers and the mucosa and said to follow-up with her in 5-7 days. I called yesterday as it was 6 days and was hoping for some answers before the long weekend. She called me back today and said that the biopsies all revealed inflammation but she wasn't sure what kind of inflammation and that she wanted to meet with the pathologist personally on Tuesday. It could be due to some of the medications I am on for my Lupus, or it could be more evidence of the antibodies that are showing up in my blood that are attacking my colon (a rare autoimmune disease), or it could be signs of colitis or crohn's. I am very happy that she is being so thorough but I was really hoping for some answer today. She also has plans for me to also do the pill camera also so I guess she still has questions regardless. Ugh!
