Hair loss from Imuran?

I have been on Imuran for years at 150mg. About a year ago my doctor put me up to 200mg. I have been experiencing hair loss since the increase. Has anyone else have this happen and what if anything was done about it? My doctor said that I need to stay at this level. I do have an appointment with a dermatologist but can't get in to see her until October 1st.

I am on 6mp which I believe is similar to Imuran and I notice every time I take a shower and I comb my hair, I pull out a lot more hair than what I normally would. It is not terrible amount of hair loss, not enough to make people say that my hair looks thinner, but I do notice that I pull out more hair when I comb.

My hair loss is noticeable. I have fine hair and never was thick so it is of concern for sure as others have asked me about it.

Can you call your Dermatologist office to be put on a list so that if another patient cancels their appointment you can get in sooner ? October is a long time to wait ! I JUST read a thread about hair loss. They mentioned using Biotin, a water-soluable B Vitamin. And also using sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. But do not take any vitamins or supplements without talking to your doctor first. Check out more threads and you may find another chat about hair loss. My sister has hair loss ( but not IBD ), so I sent her an e-mail about this information.
