Has anyone ever lost control of their bowels while having a flare up? I never have but came real close today, Sometimes it just strikes with no warning....very embarrassing.:poo:

Yes but luckily i start having to go after school, i will come home and be to the toilet and back numerous times. But hopfuly the time wont come where i donnot make it to the bathroom!, I have had some close-calls though.

Before I was officially diagnosed I saw a proctologist and she said I probably had Crohn's but she wanted to take care of my fissure. When she put me under to do the fissure surgery she found that I had 3 large fissures so she decided to put botox in my anal sphincter to relax it a bit. That was done on a Friday. I went into the hospital to test for Crohn's. Before the hospital I didn't go to the bathroom for a month and a half when I left the hospital I was completely cleaned out and for over 3 months I had NO control of my bowels at all. I couldn't tell when I was going to go to the bathroom. I went to high school for a few days after a few weeks recuperating and every day I went on myself. The school told me to go home and make sure I was better and not worry about the end of the year because I had really good grades.

When I had my last surgery my surgeon sent me to a Dr who talks about putting these tubes in my bladder, They said it would make it easier not to knick things when the surgeon was doing surgery, they didnt really explain alot to me, at the time I was so sick and in pain I was like do what you have to do to make me better, So I signed a release form allowing them to put these tubes in while operating. they said they would take them out when ending the surgery and they would go in right after they put me to sleep. I was asleep from the surgery for 7 hours, after that for 4 months I had no bladder control, I would be walking through the house and all the sudden Urine would run down my legs. even when I didnt feel like i had to go, i went back to the Dr 4 times in those 4 months complaining about this and he kept telling me that it wasnt a side effect from the tubes and he basically told me cause i signed the form i would have to deal with it. it gradually went away but, it was real embarrassing i had to wear depends all the time i didnt know when i was going to pee myself, and let me tell you that is hard on the sex life.... "Hold on hunny, I have to take off my diaper" :(

Yes this has happened several times to my husband and myself, its not nice at all. People do not understand how nasty this disease affects us. Peggy

Ha ha! I read this and laughed!

I don't remember anymore when I last HAD control of my bowels...

I have mastered the art of the rapid-bum-clench-shuffle to the nearest facility, but the worst has been on car journeys... often very short journeys where traffic lights have been against me and I have ended up defiling my lovely red leather seats just yards from home...

This is a horrible disease!

More times then I care to remember that's for sure, depressing and embarassing all at once.

:)

Nope, not yet touch wood, except for once a few years ago when i was doing prep for a barium enema - thought it was a fart! An experience I expect is very familiar here! Lucly I was at home. Funny thing is I did it right away again with the next 'fart' too!

Oh yes I have done this many times just recently this morning I had a mishap.
I am having D this morning and sure enough I didn't make it to the BR in time.
This is not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last
Bethy:poo: :poo:

yeah. waiting in line forever in the autoparts section at walmart. carry a goody bag with baby wipes and what not just for this :-(

Just this morning reading while sitting in my lazyboy chair - what I thought was gas....oops...
Nice to know I'm not alone in crapping in the ole pants....

yep a few times and a lot of close shaves - I have found that pressing (sometimes hard) between where the thumb and forefinger meets takes the pressure off enough to make the bathroom. The worst game to to play is 'I can just make it to the next bathroom' - may be not :(

Oh yes I have had quite a few accidents, and now I alway take spare clothes and baby wipes whenever I go out. I even have accidents if I sneeze!

I was stuck at the traffic lights one time praying that they would turn green, when opps oh dear to late, but to make it worse there was someone in the next car looking at me very strange!!

Sucks when it happens right after you finish going, like AHHHHH I'm done, start washing your hands and plsplfplf OH SHI*... That's a fun one..
