Have a stricture, surgery required

Ol i need some help. have been throwing up for 4 months now. i have crohns of course finally after not knowing they found a stricture and sent me back to know my surgeon that did my first surgery . pretty much said she can do surgery. but hope now sure it will stop the throwing up overtime i eat. so my question is what to do. over the weekend things have gotten. bad overtime i eat of course i throw up but now also in alto of pain. feels like a am in labor. then it will stop go away. and come back again all through the day. and am very blowded. Were i look like i am 8 months Peggy. help what do i do. sorry typing sucks on new phone

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Have you got a date scheduled for the surgery yet? Are you currently on any meds? If you are having trouble keeping food down, I would get onto your doc and ask about whether you can go on some liquid shakes (I had to do this leading up to my op last year). If you are however finding that the pain is intolerable it might be worth taking a trip to a&e to check whether the stricture is becoming a total blockage.

I am on humira and also steroids right know. no date for surgery yet as i don't know if that's what to for a the Dr r telling me its up to be but may not fix throwing. up. waiting to talk to him again today. also have the liquid diet but didn't do much good

How soon after you eat do you feel pain and how soon after you eat do you vomit?

What tests did they run to determine you have a stricture that requires surgery?

The above are some good questions. I'd also like to know why they said that the surgery would not stop the vomiting? Generally when a stricture is removed there shouldn't be anymore food/drink backing up which is the main cause of the vomiting (other causes could be pain, infection etc) so it makes me wonder if there's something else going on that's causing the vomiting since they said surgery wouldn't stop it?

They did the camara pill to find it. The didnt say it wouldnt fix the throwing up just aid it may not fix it. The pain is pretty fast to come on but latley I have been hurting and getting very bloated even if,i dont eat. I throw up within 15 min of eating. It is to the point I am rhurting so bad,i want to go to the er but I have to kids that need mommy.
They told me today I should here from the dr first thing in the morning.

Do you know specifically what area of the intestines your stricture is in? Were you able to pass the camera pill ok without it getting stuck?

It is in my small intestine.. And the pill did pass they said it took alot longer then normal but yes it did pass. Also were they put me back together from my first surgery..
