Had a message on facebook today from a friend who knows i have crohns saying about a man called GREG WILLIAMS.

Apparantly he is the uk number 1 on nutrician in the uk and specialises in crohns and u/c ( personally i have never heard of him).

this is his web site > www.iamgregwilliams.com

wanted to know if anyone has any info on this ( gut feeling is saying BEWARE mainly due to the way he says about raising money to pay for his advise )

I haven't heard of him, but I would say go with your gut. There are an awful lot of people on the internet who will say/do anything to make money. If it seems iffy to you then don't ignore that.

(Also, completely unrelated and I don't mean to derail your thread, but - is that a corgi in your avatar picture? I have a corgi as well!)

lol @ cat ..

its one of my malamutes .. possibly the size of 25 corgis all together.

as to that bloke .. i would never go for one of these , its just interest to see if its worth warning others about :)

Hi All

I can see here that there are some quite negative comments regarding Greg Williams.

I am a Crohn's sufferer and I actually worked with Greg earlier this year after my sister had read about him on Facebook.

I can honestly say he is totally genuine and very good and what he does. After a few months I saw a big difference in my symptoms and am now feeling much better in myself and much happier.

I am pretty much pain free now and my fatigue has reduced dramatically. I cannot sing his praises enough.

I know there are some sharks/fakes out there but I promise Greg isn't one of them.

Give him a go. It will be worth it!

now i really am NOT SURE !!

A couple of days a go, there is a post from the man himself , now gone

today a post from a new member who joined today and its the only post from the new member.

It's important to know that these services fall into alternative treatment.
I didn't see anything about being a registered diatician from an accredited university.

Be informed.

I was wondering where that post disappeared to as well.

I appologise for the sarcasm in my first post on this thread, but my comment came from reading his website. I just had another look and read a few articles, but it just sounds so much like stuff I've heard so many times before - and like advice that I've followed many times before, always ending in failiure, which my conventional medical treatments have not; I've had drastic improvements in my life from medications and from surgeries. And I really do mean that I followed the advice, I didn't make half-hearted efforts, I really tried changing diet, lifestyle, mindset, supplements, seeing nutritionists, natural/alternative therapies, and on and on. And I wish I hadn't wasted so much time, energy, money and hope on efforts that only left me physically and mentally worse. I don't feel it's a case of trying it as you've nothing to lose, because you can lose a lot.

If there is something different about Greg Williams then maybe it needs to be more apparent on his website? The website doesn't seem to give much specific information about what he actually does (or if the details are there I didn't come across them) and I would be interested in hearing about what has brought about your improved health.

I didn't assume you're lying, I'd just be interested in hearing more details about how you have been helped. All I've got to go on is the website, but maybe that's not an accurate representation of what he does as it doesn't include much specific information.

He recommended changes in my diet, supplements that might work better for me, small changes in my lifestyle. All of which for me worked.

I was advised I would need to take stronger mess which had horrid side effects and that's when I decided to contact Greg.

Now I'm coping with the changes and without the stronger drugs.

But that's still not giving any details, anything that differs from a thousand other alternative practitioners - or even conventional doctors - who recommend a healthy diet and supplements and lifestyle. What did he actually advise you to eat and take and change about your lifestyle?

To go gluten free, have bone broth regularly. Lots of little changes. He advised me on supplements and what protein shakes to have. I think by being in contact with him regularly it made me think more about what I was putting in my body etc.

Like i said earlier. It may not be for everyone and everyone deals with their IBD in their way.

I felt after seeing not nice comments that i wanted to say something as Greg is only doing a positive thing and it's not right that his name and reputation is spoken about in negative way.

I'm not an expert. I am just talking from my own personal experience.

My Crohn's was effecting my life in a way that I didn't want it to anymore and my biggest fear is to have to have an operation or take medication that has more side effects than what I deal with now. My sister recommended Greg and I took a chance. My chance paid off.

You took time to read his site so maybe you are searching for other options. I don't know. But if you are looking for help then why not take a chance on him. The condition isn't going any where is it!?!

I'm not looking for help, but having had negative experiences with alternative practitioners before, it's a topic I'm very concerned about. A gluten free diet and bone broth seems to be what every alternative/natural practitioner/nutritionist recommends at the moment, so I'm still unsure what makes him different.

As I said, the negative comments were responses to his website, so maybe it would help if he made some changes to give a better impression? His language sounds very manipulative at times; there's no mention of his prices (that I saw); there are a lot of words but few details about how he actually helps; and there is some dodgy pseudo-science.

I believe you when you say he helped you, but I would be concerned that other people who go to him for help are not so lucky.

Like I say it's different for everyone and I'd never spoken to anyone else so I don't know what others advise.

It's up to each individual and what is right for you is not right for Joe Bloggs. I'm not saying Greg's way will work for everyone but I think it's very sad that negative comments are made when he is having positive results.

This is my opinion and you have yours. So I am going to stop this conversation now as we clearly differ on this topic.

All I wanted to say is, Greg is a good guy who helps. Not some arse who is trying to rip people off or take advantage. That's it!

Beware indeed!

GREG WILLIAMS came onto the forum to promote themselves. They were banned for this.

I'm locking this thread as their behavior in my opinion shows that they aren't professional and I don't want to chance letting them back on the forum under a different name to try and clear his name. I'm very sorry about all of this nevilletanner. I hope your question has been answered.
