healthy snacks

I am looking for healthy snack options. Sometimes I can eat fruits and sometimes I cant. I am getting bored with pretzels and crackers.
What do you eat???

I eat lots of granola bars, cliff bars, power bars(gels-fruitchews-any many more) Honey stinger has many snacks, the chews and honey gels are awesome. I race mtn bikes so high energy snacks are a must. Do you have a REI store near you? or even Meijers? as they have a large section of healthy energy and snack bars. Billy

Check out my breakfast bars and no added sugar muffins in the 'cooking with Crohn's' section. They are what I take to work to keep me out of the biscuit barrell! At home, I sometimes make a batch of stewed apples (just peel and cut up a pile of apples, add to a pan with water, a splash of lemon juice and a bit of honey, gently heat for 20 minutes or so till it's mushy), or jelly (I'm going to try making some with gelatin and orange juice when I next fancy it). The bars and muffins keep for 3-5 days in an airtight container, apples and jelly about the same in an airtight container in the fridge.

I'm a huge fan of rice cakes with peanut butter. Can you do fruit shakes?

I also love veggie chips. I find them in the "organic" snack section of my grocery store. Oh, and pirate's booty. OMG yum!

I can't really eat many veggies, but I can do baked kale chips. Which doesn't sound like a yummy "snack" until you try them!!! Not so easy to take with you to work or anything, but delish at home!!!!

Can you eat hummus?

I will have to look into veggie chips. i have seen them but never tried. I am going to start making fruit shakes. I know my boys will love them too!!

Maple almond butter! Seriously! Sooooo good, and almonds are really good for you. It is a little high in sugar but I think it's still a "healthy snack" especially if you spread it on apple (delicious) or banana or something. It's good enough to eat plain as well.

I second hummus, that's my go-to snack and it's never caused me problems. I eat it with crackers, pretzels, chips, pita bread, or tortillas. You could dip veggies in it if you can handle raw veg. It's delish and fairly healthy.

Celery sticks with almond butter, tahini, peanut butter, cashew butter or any nut or seed butter!

natural greek yogurt and honey

malt loaf and nut/seed butter

Avocado Angel Delight (recipe to be found here: http://www.mydish.co.uk/recipe/4931/healthiest-ever-angel-delight)

Plantain chips (just thin slices of plantain, dipped in extra virgin olive oil (or any oil) and baked in the oven until crispy)

Don't forget good old fashioned "dark" chocolate. Its really good for you if its over 60% cocoa, full of antioxidants and healing properties

Enjoy! :)

Thanks for all the great ideas!

I love hummas but never buy it besides for parties. Need to start getting it!

I usually snack on peanut butter crackers, cereal, lunch meat, or those frozen veggie steamer things. I can't do much fresh produce, so the cooked veggies help.
