heat inside my tummy

Ive noticed recently that my insides, mostly at the top so possibly stomach (?), feel like theyre on fire. It is like having a temperature in my tummy but not anywhere else.

Im on omeprazole and domperidone for alleged reflux. It doesnt feel anything like reflux just like extreme warmth. It's not sore but more uncomfortable heat. If I drink water I really notice the cooling effect of it and can trace it going down through my system, which I cant normally do.

Anyone know what this is/could be and what I should do about it in short term?
Have first GI appointment since dx midweek, just want to get to then.

Mine may very well be unrelated to yours, but I did have this exact thing happen during a flare. I had no reflux or any other stomach issues. An endoscopy was completely negative and colonoscopy showed active UC, so my GI figured my stomach heat/discomfort was actually coming from the colon.

Edit: Also..forgot to mention this.. same as you, ice water seemed to be the only thing that helped.

Thank you. It's interesting they said it was UC as I thought that didn't affect the stomach. I'll ask thro week and if I hear more post back!

They didn't find anything wrong with my stomach, but the doctor said that probably what I was feeling was where the colon is up high by the stomach and not actually my stomach at all.

It may sound silly but I find that reassuring as if I had to pick one colitis would be first choice not crohns. Not sure which it is yet.

Hi I had that symptom when I had a bad flare it felt like I was cooking on the inside I always blamed the radiation of the CT scans!!! Although I know it wasn't it did turn out to be severe inflammation of the duodenum and ileum. It's been removed and I don't get that feeling now.
