Hello all .......I was recently diagnosed this past November and had immediate surgery, o yea I was scared and still afraid, my gi docs wants me to take remicade IV, and I know that it has a high rate for cancer.but the doc SD I need this BC i have a severe case any opinions.

Sorry to hear that this has hit so hard straight up.

Many of the drugs used to treat and keep Crohn's in control have the potential to cause serious side effects but I don't know where you got the information suggesting that they have a high rate for cancer.

There are many factors to weigh up and along with whatever methods you may try...diet, drugs, Enteral Nutrition, Low Dose Naltrexone and so on you also have to consider keeping your Crohn's appropriately in check lest it lead to more surgery. Have a look through the forums, particularly treatment and diet, educate yourself to become the best possible advocate you can and never stop asking questions.

Each persons journey is individual as is their response to treatment but there are many here that have very successful outcomes with Remicade. Good luck hun and welcome aboard!
