Hi,
My name is Lewis Jones, I'm 17 living in England. I was diagnosed with Crohns back when I was 13 after months of problems and my GP not having a clue what was wrong ( the irony of him prescribing laxatives is quite funny looking back now ). It probably took about a year to get it fully under control with the main factor being me taking Azathioprine after trying lots of different medication and steroids. I also take mesalazine and creon 10,000 due to my pancreas being destroyed by the Crohns in my early stages.
I guess being at a young age I didn't really take it in and to this day I still don't think I really have, my symptoms for the past 2 years have been close to none so none of my new friends at college know I have it which suits me tbh. I don't know whether it's a good thing to ignore it or not but it makes my life easier sometimes.
I joined this forum really because I haven't talked about my crohns or spoke to anybody with it since the first year of my diagnosis and recently I've had flare ups to do with stress and it's hard, but life goes on I suppose. Just thought I'd join like minded people who have most likely been through everything I'll have to face and have made it out the other side.
Rant over
