Hi all, new here. Had Crohn's for 12 years but been pretty good on low does of Azathiaprine til recent flare up largely due to stress...Struggling to cope with a new job (previously made redundant) and high doses of steriod for flare up. They are making me feel very spaced out and disconnected...haven't had mood swings or insomnia yet. The pain has eased though but i need to be able to function!! Any one else with these probs. One thing i've learned about the disease is that it and the meds are so individual and each person reacts so differently...

When I was on prendisone I was a different person, and when I got towards the end of tapering off of them I was a giant douche, lol. I think during flare ups you become a different person, between the medicine, the pain, and the possibility of going to the ER at any moment it is just real scary and traumatic! The worst part is that you look "normal" and people think you are just making stuff up. I hope all goes well! Good luck!

Hello and welcome to the forum, I am sorry to hear that you are not doing so well at the moment and are having problems with the pred Have you spoken to you doc about this? If you feel the side effects are bad enough it may be worth asking them about an alternative steroid - budesonide - as this may not cause as many issues for you...

Do you know yet what the plan will be after the steroids are finished with regards to you meds or is your doc just thinking things will settle back down?
