Hello Crohn's Forum. You look like just what I need! Recently diagnosed with Crohn's and treatment with azathioprine, prednisolone and octasa is making me very feverish and lethargic (it's the azathiprine that gets me).

How's it going?

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

Are these meds helping with the tum? What doses are you on and how often are you seeing your doc? Have you been able to make them aware of how you are feeling currently?

Hi Harreh and welcome to the community!

I'm sorry you're having trouble right now :(

How high is your temperature? What makes you think the azathioprine is causing the issues? And what dose are you on?

I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you, hello :).

Currently on:
2x800mg octasa twice a day
15mg prednisolone every day, taper 5mg every 10 days
50mg azathrioprine every day.
My weight is 56kg.

I assume it's the azathioprine because that's the immunosurpressant. Or perhaps it's the combination of prednisolone and azathioprine.

The prednisolone and octasa help reduce frequent visits to the toilet, which means less nausea during the day and also reduce most of the bleeding. Then they added the azathioprine and I'm sure that my body has just reacted badly to it.

I next see my doc on Friday.

It is certainly worth mentioning this to the doc when you see them, also do you know if you have ever had you vitamin levels checked? Have you only had problems with fatigue since you started the meds or before?

No idea if they're checking my vitamin levels. Don't think so. I have blood tests, specifically for the azathioprine and had some others too. Been taking multi-vitamin supplements since I got diagnosed anyway.

I'm not too sure but if I remember correctly, before the meds I could be feeling fatigued due to the Crohn's. Nothing like this though.

I think I'll give my specialist nurse a call tomorrow, Friday is just too long to wait.

It settles out to more manageable illness type symptoms but is essentially perpetual. Coughing, soreness, tiredness. Generally unwell to leave the bed or house usually.

Didn't actually measure my temp, although on a previous incident I did and reached 38'C or something.

Cheers, deffo feeling better now I've had a few days off the azathioprine. Still sleeping during the day but at least I don't have a nightmareish fever.

Also found myself vomiting. What's really odd, as I've never experienced anything like this, is that I threw up my lunch after I had ate my dinner.
That spag bol just didn't wanna go through me I guess, nor the Doritor's salsa dip.
