Help What should I do!

I think I am in a flare , horrible cramps, going to the bathroom more, slight fever, nausea. I am going for a small bowel follow through tomorrow but isnt that going to make it all worse. And then I wont see the doctor until Monday because of the holiday. The hospital is Rush Medical center which is an hour away. I wonder if I should just go right to the ER after the small bowel follow through.

Well...I guess it depends on how absolutely awful you feel the flare is. A flare doesn't always constitute an emergency. Only if you are bleeding copious amounts of blood or if you are vomiting from an obstruction is typically the reason someone bothers to go the ER with this. Flares are common Mary - it just depends on the severity of it. Do you feel like you need to go to the ER?

As for the SBFL - no, that won't necessarily make it worse. And, you really need to have that test done to see if this is even what you are thinking it is right?

OK - just went back and looked for a response on that other thread you started last night about the fever. I don't think you responded back on that one.

Can you maybe do a thread under "your story" and really give us all a background on what is going on with you? You have lots of questions - but honestly - I don't think we have heard the progression of what you are going through. It really helps us to have all of the puzzle pieces to better answer your questions I think. Don't know all of your symptoms, don't know if you are currently on any meds at all, don't know what all tests you have had done to try and help with the diagnosis? We are kinda stabbing around in the dark you know? Only if you are comfy of course - we just want to try and help.

Flaring with a fever can be a possible abcess and if you are in alot of pain, see how you feel after your scope, if the pain and fever is still there, I would go, incase you do have an abcess.
