I was wondering basically what other people do when they are in pain. I often get stomach pains which are hard to deal with on a daily basis, but wondered if other people knew of things that could help. I have tried paracetamol and hot water bottles which seem to help to some extent, but wanted to know if other people had any suggestions on what they did?

Beyond pain meds and heating pads I really don't have any other suggestions other than to contact your doctor about pain management that works for you be it other pain pills or maybe even a change in medication to get rid of the pain entirely or at least reduce it (ie. Prednisone etc depending on your condition as you're new to the forum).

Welcome to the forum. It'd be great if you shared your story with us in the Your Story section of the forum and also let us know what your condition is and how its being treated. :D

Yoga; meditation; sometimes I go get acupuncture; then I go to the spare room that has the beautiful Russian sleigh bed, antique linen pillowcases, and a window right beside the bed. There's a huge Rosa Glauca wild rose bush pushing up against the glass. This tangled rose bush has dripping rose hips and plum colored stems; and I lay in the bed with my cat curled up behind my knees, and I pretend I'm in a Russian fairy tale. I try to sleep as if nothing in the world matters.

Hi Naen,
I find relief from hot showers, peppermint tea, progressive relaxation and deep breathing... And when it gets bad, Buscopan, my new hero med that relieves cramping and some general pain while waiting for regular meds to take effect.
Welcome to CF, and take good care.

Thank you for all your replies, I will try the peppermint tea and showers along with trying to keep calm with deep breaths etc. I just wanted something that would help that wasnt prescribed medicines etc, as getting sick of taking tablets lol.

When I get round to it I will crabbyrelish i will post my story in the your story section. finding this a bit strange at the moment because apart from family never really spoken about cd with anyone. I look around and get used to the site first. thanks for the replies though, really helpful. :)
