i feel like crying,
i just spent over an hour typing out my story and hit post and a screen came up saying i am unable to do this for a variety of reasons. i think i just last pages that i never saved. anyone have any suggestions?

I always type my stuff out in Word first and then cut and paste...especially if it's a long post.

hiya Suzie... the most probable reason for losing the text you'd typed up, was that most forums including this one, have a log out time period... ie if you've not moved around the forum or refreshed or posted... just stayed logged into one spot, for a considerable amount of time, it will log you out - and unfortunately that usually means you've lost what you've typed...

i think the best way to avoid this is, if you're typing up a long post, before you hit submit, highlight and copy all your post.. this is really easy - hold your mouse left hand button down and move it from the top of your post to the bottom, so all that text is highlighted, then click the right hand button on your mouse, click Copy, and thats it - the text is now in temporary memory.

you can then try to submit, log back in if necessary, find the reply box you were in, put your cursor in that box, and hit Ctrl V, and all your copied text will appear.

i am having a hard time navigating around the site. when i am on just the regular page with new posts how do i start a new thread? what area do i have to be in?
