Hiya everyone, hope everyone's ok
I'm in a huge flare!
It started on Sunday, I woke up with sore eyes, watering and itchy. Banging headache too. On Monday I woke up with a mouth ulcer, and I thought, 'Here we go again!'
On Tuesday I felt a sharp stabbing in LRQ. Took some paracetamol.
Had my dinner, then the urgency, within minutes.
I didn't make it to the toilet, had an accident, Oh God, so embarrassing to say the least. Then I vomited.
Got sent home and went straight to the GPs. GP saw me straight away, he is such a love.
Two options he said. Straight to A&E or complete bed rest for a week.
I opted for the latter! He signed me off work for a week.
So now I'm on 9mg of Entocort for a month, then taper to 6mg and so on.
It kicked in, good stuff this med, I feel tons better already.
Still got LRQ pain but not half as bad as it was on Tuesday. No vomiting.
Still got banging headaches, diarrhea, sore eyes and mouth ulcers tho!
So that's me, bye bye remission, was good to see you for 7 months!
xxxx

Sorry you are in a bad place! Looks like you jumped on it though and are getting it under control quickly! Good job. Hoping for a speedy recovery for you!

Ugh, sorry to hear it Joan! I really hope you're on the mend soon, and I'm happy to hear that the Entocort is still working for you and doing its thing!

Quick question though -- what is A&E?

Gotcha! Yeah, it's nice to have help from the doctors in a hospital... but I'm sure that you'll be a whole lot more comfortable taking it easy in your own home! Feel better soon. :)

Just the thought of sitting on a trolley for 6 hours waiting for a doc who doesn't know his arse from his elbow (not an IBD specialist) makes me more ill!:D

Oh no, poor you. Does entocort usually do the trick for you. Lets hope so and you have a good long remission.
You will have to use the time to catch up with some good books and films and get pampered by your family.
Are you able to eat ok at the moment or do you lose your appetite etc when you flare?
Sounds like you have a good GP.

yeah Entocort does it for me, It's cos my CD is in the TI
I'm resting and chillin watching Benny & Joon!
My diet is a bit hit and miss at the mo tho, feel a bit sick, but banana butties help!
hope you're doing ok littlemissh xxxx

Banana butties...yum. I keep trying to get my girls to try them but they refuse and think I am mad.
I'm plodding along sort of...I have a thread going if you're remotely interested...the Whipples thread on the General IBD discussion forum.
Whats Benny and Joon?? I resorted to watching 'the clangers' on you tube yesterday!!

Whipples hey? Dunno what they are but I'll check it out!
Benny & Joon is some eccentric fillum with Johnny Depp that's on the telly at the mo!

Ha ha, Whipples is an operation to remove the duodenum etc...though thinking about it, it does sound like some sort of worm therapy!

Love Johnny Depp, will have to look that one up. I've been working my way through Spooks- they keep killing off my fave men though.

Noooooooo. I really hope you've nipped it in the bud. Love banana butties too. When I was wee I used to sprinkle sugar on them.

Thanks Helen!
I feel a bit sick, gotta be the meds, hasn't it? God I hope so.
hope you're doing ok too
xxx

Ah hell Joan, I'm so sorry to hear that you are poorly. :(

I surely hope the Entocort remains your wonder drug and you are soon well on top of things again...:getwell:

Rest up and take hun,
Dusty. xxxxxxxx

......and you are soon well on top of things'

D'ya mean Mark? ha ha

Thanks Dusty, I'm ok, feel a bit sick tho. Just need to rest and chill
xxx

Aww crap, Joan. I hope you're on the mend, and quick!

Let me try to make you smile as much as you make me smile... here's my best shot at a "Astraism." (clearing my throat)

I hope the Entocort bonks the rainbow right out of that leprchaun's arse by St Patty's day.

How'd we do? ;)

ha ha ha cheers sawdust!
Now that made me laugh out loud! Ta luv!

An Astraism hey? (shit that Joan sez)

(I'm quick ya know Dusty, it's on the brain ya know)

Thinking of you Joan, get well soon honey. xxxx

sawdust - you're funny, considering there is a crock of gold at the end of each rainbow I don't fancy that poor leprachauns chances.

Joan! You're not allowed to flare, I didn't give you permission to leave the Remission Club. :( Poor thing, get some rest and feel better soon. Big hug!

Sorry for being so American, but what is a banana buttie? For some reason I am picturing bananas and butter which sounds pretty gross, ha ha.

Thanks Cat!

I know, it stinks, I've been sooooooo well for ages, but work is so stressful and I've been filling in for a teacher on sick leave (didn't get paid btw)
I'm gonna be back in the R Club very soon!

Ok, a banana buttie is a banana on a sandwich! We call them butties and they are gorgeous!
In fact, all sandwiches are called butties here oop North! Sandwiches are for posh people, ha ha
Hope you're doing ok Cat xxx

Joan, I'm doing great these days, thanks for asking. IBD is still in remission, GERD is finally well-controlled, and psyllium husks have made me poo like a normal person and made my hemmies disappear! I'm exercising regularly and generally just feeling wonderful. You better re-join me in the Remission Club very soon! :)

Sandwiches are for posh people? Around here sandwiches are for poor people, the rich people can afford to eat better than that. Ha ha. ;)

Have just seen that you're poorly! I hope you feel lots better soon

Must say I really like the sound of having a buttie right now although I would have to exchange the banana for some sneaky soft chips...yum.
