hey there

hi everyone. i found this forum purely by accident.. but i'm a believer in everything happening for a purpose, and maybe it was meant to be that i stumbled in just now..

i was diagnosed with crohns?colitis many years ago, had drastic surgery, and have since had many crohns-free years. unfortunately, its just come back :(

this time around, its affected me emotionally quite a lot, and it was therefore quite comforting to find this forum and so many members with the same thing. makes you feel you're not alone with this illness.

i look forward to reading your posts and getting to know you all.

best wishes

dingbat

:)

Hi dingbat. Welcome to the forum. Don't take offense to my snide, comic comment on the 'where are you from' thread. math wasn't my strong suit in school either.Kidding

Welcome dingbat! I am sorry that you have had a reoccurence of symptoms but am at least glad that you found us now. Hopefully we can help you a bit regarding the emotional side of this disease. Hope to see you on soon!

thank you mikey :)

i think its just something that time will settle, in my mind.

years back, when my life was wrecked by crohns, i used to envisage it as a monster, that was out to get me... i remember thinking "this is the last time you'll do this to me" just before i went in for my surgery.

and the satisfaction & relief that i was proved right was incredible. it didnt "get me" ever again.

until recently :( and thats something i have to deal with. its back.. and i need to get my head around it.

the wonderful thing about this forum, as i read more and more, is there isnt anything i have felt that someone else hasnt experienced... we're not alone, whether its with the physical, psychological, or emotional side of crohns. and that is worth so much!
