Hello,
Not really sure where too start but, My father has crohn's and has been sick with it for nearly as long as i can remember. He is just into his 60's and once again is in hospital as i type this email. He has been on numerous meds ( don't know all of them ), some worked in a way, most seemed to make things worse.
I'm not as close to him as i probably should be, ( neither of us being very social people ). He is at the stage of having a Colostomy bag and still suffers a lot.
The question i want too ask i guess is there anyone here who has got this far and still finds mmj beneficial? Not sure if i'm clutching at straw's or not, because my dad has always been against marijuana period, He knows i used to smoke it, gave it up 6 years ago :-/ unfortunately it made me think too much after about 18 years of smoking it everyday etc. I'm thinking after doing lots and lots of reading that i may ( here's hoping ) be able to at the very least talk him into "considering" the benefits, mostly of eating it mind you.
Now I hope i don't come across as being selfish , but i myself have not yet been tested, neither have my brothers but i have been lead to believe that it can be hereditary? My main worry is for my younger brothers, even tho i have been over 700km's away from my parents for 6 years or there about's i have seen/heard what it has done to my father especially when we visit them on our holidays etc.
In terms of myself i have basically had Diarrhea at least several times (2-3) a day for approx 18 months or more , seems so long im not sure if its longer, in that period i've maybe had firm stools 5 times at most. My parents tell me i should get a colonoscopy before im 40 to get tested for it. (i havn't told them about my symptons, diarrhea/stomach cramps/slight blood loss) Unfortunately i somehow feel i'd rather not know, and for the pain from my personal view if it gets too much for me im more than happy to either smoke/eat/vaporize some marijuana.
Sorry if that dragged on a bit,
Thanks in advance.
Shane.
