Hi,

Just thought I would introduce my self and if possible get some other peoples thoughts on some things. I have read a few posts already and I already feel a ton better as I realise there are other people in my situation.
I come from a little town on the east coast of Australia.

I started experiencing symptoms at the end of last year, when I started to see blood in my stool. I then begin getting chronic pains in my stomach, these pains then begin to move to the lower right side of my abdomen. The pains were so severe at times that I could not walk properly and was for weeks on end laying in bed in agony. In the end I went to the hospital and had my appendix out. A week after my appendix was removed I continued to experience severe pains. These came and went. I also saw more blood in my stool and I also began seeing mucus. I had a colonoscopy in June which showed nothing. I still continue to get the pains on and off and now experience quite a lot of loose stools with mucus. I have been to many doctors some think I have a slight form of crohns while others think I have IBS. I was just wanting to get some ideas from other people who may have been in a similar situation.

Hi there welcome to the forums and there are a ton of people here who have experience on this so I hope you get some advice soon but I do know crohns can be a tricky thing to diagnose properly and at times hides itself quite well. So good luck and hope you get a Dx soon.

Hi Welcome to the forums!

There is an undiagnosed club here, check it out it might help you some.

I hope you start to feel better its rough when you can't put a name to what makes you so sick.

Hi Elise, just wanted to say welcome. And I actually know where you are! I used to go to Calalla Beach every January as a kid...beautiful area, but I'm sure it's changed a bit since I was there!

You'll find plenty of support and knowledge on this site - these people probably know more than a lot of docs!

Welcome aboard
hope you get the info you need
heaps of friendly ppl on here all very helpful

good too see another Aussie on here

Hi Elise
and welcome

Firstly, this isn't IBS, you do not bleed with IBS
Secondly, seek a second opinion, you're in pain for a reason! Did the surgeon see anything when he operated on you? Ask for your medical notes, 'slight form of Crohns'?? That's neither here nor there!
Don't take the word of one doc, investigate further. Get yourself genned up on IBD, this forum has lots of info, then start a food journal, document everything, and write yourself a list of questions, then go and fight for an answer!
Good Luck Elise, keep fighting!
lotsa luv
Joan xxx
