Hi there,

I've heard of this forum from a friend. I do have IBS now for 11 years and have had bad times and good times. When If first started with my problems they thought that I could have Crohns, but after zillions of test and a laparascopy they couldn't find any evidence for it and I got stuck with IBS.

I have the most problems during the morning hours, but most of the time after 10 am I'm ok. The most difficult time is when I have to go to work I always cross my fingers and hope that I will make it. Most of the times it is ok, but sometimes I have to rush to make it in time to the WC.

As said in the title, I'm from the Netherlands and I live here with my best friend Yentle, my Tibetan Terrier:

Well if you want to know more about us, just ask.

Neel

Welcome Neel! I was fortunate enough to visit Amsterdam last summer and really like the city!

Thanks for telling us a bit about you. Symptoms of IBS and IBD are often very similar.

Have you noticed any foods to trigger or worsen your symptoms? Keeping track of what you eat using a food diary might be a good place to start as you might be able to identify foods that do not cause you trouble and then trigger foods that cause the most problems.

Yes, I've notices the food triggers over the years, but the trouble is, the change all the times. So when I know what I can't eat, I follow that, but then some other things have to be added and others can be deleted....... and nerves/stress is 'deadly'.....

Hi Neel! I do the same thing - I cross my fingers I can make it through the work day! I am always afraid I am going to have the urge to use the bathroom during a meeting or while I am teaching a class. It can be really challenging. But I just try to take it day by day, and I am grateful for my good days.
