It's a pleasure to meet yall. No pleasure in suffering from Crohn's Disease.
I never heard of the disease until it was super obvious I had the condition. I started with weight loss, gradual at first. Then a rectal abscess creeped up. A general physician treated it. Cut it out, packed it every day despite the pain. Operated on the fistula by cutting it, making me unable to hold to control my bowels for a long time. Things looked better but lost a lot of weight. The area operated on looked like it was healing but then it got infected again.
He recommended a colon/rectal specialist who right away noticed I showed signs of Crohn's disease. I went to a GI who diagnosed me. I still see the Colon/Rectal specialist because I have multiple fistulas in my rectum and is the main source of discomfort.
What a road it has been. I have lost 40 lbs. Cannot gain it back, at least not yet. My appetite is back and my meals eaten to trips to the bathroom ratio is 3:2 which is better when I used to eat twice a day and go to the bathroom 10 times a day.
Hope I haven't ranted too long, but I found this site a while ago and find some comfort in reading yalls stories. It's nice to know there are people out there who can totally relate to what I am going through
